my empire of dirt
Who: Noa Kaiba, Tori Crawford, Varon and Resa/Esmerelda Vanuatu.
What: Rest and relaxation time for Varon and Resa turns into a potential opportunity to recruit two individuals who feel incredibly wronged.
Where: Domino City Cyber Cafe.
When: Some... time where Varon and Resa decide to relax. IDK STOP ASKING ME.
For those looking on, the somewhat sickly boy walking to one of the computers seemed like nothing special. No one who was worth noticing.
It was something he, Noa Yagami, was aware of--painfully so. He also knew that it wasn't something that should be a fact. Just like how he knew that he shouldn't have to use the family name of 'Yagami.' But it was all he and his mother had left, after his father had rejected both of them.
Gozaburo Kaiba must have felt very high on his throne that day, turning his wife and biological heir away.
Noa Kaiba always imagined he had been. With every time he thought of it, he felt more sick.
As he sat at one of the computers, fishing for more information on the corporation that his father decided he wasn't worthy to take over and his pathetic replacement, he only felt more resentful.
Even so, he knew he couldn't be out too terribly long--his mother was doing worse than usual lately...

in another part of the cafe
Tori Crawford, daughter of Maxwell Crawford and current heir of his corporation, sat on the other end of the cafe at a single table. She glared down at her coffee mug as she picked up a newspaper with the hand she wasn't holding the handle of the mug with in a vice grip.
Donovan Kairos. Another CEO of a different company, one that was quickly rising in the numbers. His picture and name all over the papers, yet again. She wasn't sure she liked him much more than she liked her father.
And she really, really disliked her father.
Mr. Kairos had taken it upon himself to make unwanted advances toward her boyfriend. She was also pretty sure that he was the one who was behind the increasing amount of 'accidents' that could have been potentially fatal on her life, likely because she was next in line to inherit her father's company--something she didn't want, but wasn't old enough to turn down.
She had some resentment of her own, building over the years...

Still, Resa pulled up to a cafe and then turned off the ignition. "We've got some time to kill, so take your time. I'm paying, too, so get whatever you want to drink." She took the keys and slipped them in her pocket before pressing a button on the panel and the doors suddenly slipped 270 degrees before she slipped out. In her opinion, if you got it, flaunt it.
She walked in and then ordered a small latte before sitting down. Something on the computer definitely piqued her interests as she moved her sunglasses down a bit.
Kaiba Corp, hmm? Oi, Varon, looks like we've got someone interesting here, She kept on watching what Noa was doing all the while being inconspicuous about it.

But was it really wrong? Noa wasn't he one who abandoned his family. Noa wasn't the one who replaced his son. Noa hadn't condemned his flesh and blood...
And yet, he was still paranoid. Who knew what his father had told his replacement goldfish...?

"I've got something you'd might be interested in." Calm, suave, and convincing. That was how Resa operated in these kinds of things and it worked well enough so far.

Finally able to break free from the bonds of the car that happen to be his girlfriend's, she was already inside. Sliding down the door, he turns toward the cafe and scoped around the room. He spotted the lone girl sitting at the table, his eyes studied her from over his shoulder. Resa was already talking to someone else. This was another disguised mission, it seems.
He approached the table after making his order. "May I?"

Friendly, but not any more trusting than she'd normally be with a stranger.
"If that's what you want," she replied. "I'm not expecting company or anything~"
no subject
"It's no concern of yours," he said, full of doubt and mistrust.

"What if I said I could get what you're looking for with just a quick phone call?"
no subject
"What do you know of what I want?"
If not revenge on his replacement, then at the very least a suitable living situation for himself and his mother... but he knew better than to trust outsiders so easily
The world is cruel. Even the closest people to you could throw you away once you're no longer seen as useful.
"Who are you to so casually talk to me, anyway? Most people simply ignore such a filthy child's existence." Every word he spoke was laced with a jaded view of the world, of a child who had been forced to grow up too quickly.

"You're looking for information on Kaiba Corp. The way you're going won't give you much. I could be persuaded to give you access to this and more if you decide to work with me."
She then simply smiled at his next question. "Because I was like you once. I hated the world and everyone in it and wanted it all to burn. I still do, but now I'm working towards making this a better place to be."

He still didn't trust this woman, but his father and the rest of the world weren't the only ones who could use people like tools. At least Noa wasn't just doing it for himself.

Resa placed her drink down on the adjacent computer and looked around warily before her fingers began to work on the keyboard, bringing up different files here and there. Amelda was an accomplished hacker and taught his skills to those who would benefit the most from it. Soon, she pulled up all the encrypted files on Kaiba Corp, them just jumping on the screen simultaneously.
"Well? What do you think? Convincing enough?"

"You're actually readin' up on that bloke?"

"How...?"

She tried not to grin as she watched him sit down carefully. She can definitely tell that he was not accustomed to wearing a suit, that much was for sure. However, Tori's brow furrowed as Varon asked his question.
"It's not like I want to."
